Core Values : Shared theology with corresponding scripture passages

INCLUSION: We invite young and old, differently abled and differently labeled. We welcome and widen the circle around Jesus Christ.

Acts 10:34-3634 Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36 You know the message he sent to the people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all.

EQUALITY: We insist that all people are created equal in the eyes of God, therefore worthy of love, welcome and respect.

Galations 3:28 28 There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.

FREEDOM OF THOUGHT AND FAITH: We will respect each person’s freedom to think for themselves. Jesus came to take away our sins, not our brains.

2 Corinthians 3:17 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

COMPASSION: We love and care for others, prompting us to help provide for human needs and healing

Ephesians 4:32 32 and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.[a]

Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill[a] the law of Christ.

PRAYER: We believe prayer connects us to God, who hears, heals and gives us peace.

Philippians 4: 6-7 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

PEACE MAKING: We seek to promote God’s peace and justice within and around us.

Psalm 34:14 Depart from evil and do good: seek peace and pursue it.

Matthew 5:9-10 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
